Al Di Meola Prism

Guitar Legend, Al Di Meola is proud to offer Prism, a Paul Reed Smith (PRS) Signature Model guitar.  The guitar features “a curly maple custom 9 top with mahogany back, 25″ scale length, 22 fret Mexican rosewood fingerboard, custom Al Di Meola neck carve, grommet style locking tuners, standard abalone bird inlays and a tremolo bridge.”

The partnership between Paul Reed Smith and Al Di Meola was founded on the idea of creating a guitar that “maintained the highest quality and tonal integrity.”  It was Di Meola who proposed the colorful finish to create a one of a kind look.  He has been tearing up the strings of PRS guitars for over 20 years.

Currently Al Di Meola has a full schedule of performances set through November of this year.  Most of the dates are scattered across Europe with a 3-day US appearance, June 25-27.

Al Di Meola completes long-running tour

Al Di Meola has been on tour non-stop since January 2009, so it’s only fitting that the guitar hero has plans to rest his feet for a while. His last performance of the eight month long tour was on August 16 in Hungary at the Castle Theater of Esztergom.

He currently holds many prestigious guitar awards (of any guitarist in the world) according to Guitar Player magazine. His albums stretch back to the early 1970s, and he has numerous solo works and collaborations with other artists.
